E - mail enables you to send and receive messages to each other electronically. E - mail is not sent 'directly' to your PC , unless you've got a permanent internet connection.It is held on a service providers email server, until a customer(you) downloads it to their PC so it can be read.
If you want to send email, you need to know the other persons email address - something like '[email protected]' . You'll also need an email program, such as Eudora Light, or the email programs built into the Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer web browsers.The best is to ask your service provider for help with the configuration of your email program.

Just some input fields you might bump into - what to fill in ,

POP Account:
Simply your email address
Outgoing mail SMTP:
The address of the mail server that sends out your mail.
Incoming mail POP3:
The address of the mail server that you download your mail from.
Reply / Return address:
Your email address , for when people wants to reply on your message.
Account name:
Your user id , provided by the service provider.
You can also send all kinds of files along with your email message - text, pictures, audio clips or even video , just attach them to your message(look for a paper clip).

Read and write email messages offline. You only need to be connected to the internet when you wish to send or download a message.

Some Netiquette:

  • Don't type your messages in capital - it's like being shouted at .
  • Don't use email to advertise products - It's called 'spamming' .
  • Don't include highly sensitive or personal info in email - it can be read by third parties .
