Home - takes you to the first page which appears every time you connect to the internet .
Back / Forward - Useful navigation icons that allow you to go back to web pages that you have already visited or forward again after a few steps back.
Reload / Refresh - sometimes a web page only loads partially or, stalls, use this button to reload your page.
Stop - Stops a web page from loading.

Netscape Navigator.
Images - When you have problems loading images.
Open - The same as your address bar , to open a web page you know the address of.
Find - Looks for a specific word on a web site.
Netscape icon - Whenever you see the animated comets, data is coming down your phone line from the web.
Bookmark - List of your favorite sites that you have 'Bookmarked' to make them easy to find again later.

Envelope - To open the Netscape email program.
Broken key - Means that confidential information should not be sent as the server is not secure while a complete key shows that you are on a secure server.

3 - For access to the internet newsgroups.
4 - Opens a web page authoring program.

Internet Explorer.

  • Search - Link to other search engines.
  • News - Opens the newsgroup reading program.
  • Favorites - Your list of favorite sites that you have marked to make them easy to find again later.
  • Larger / Smaller or Font - Change the size of the texton the page.
  • Preferences - Menu where you can choose aspects of your browser appearances and the way it loads web pages.
  • Explorer icon - Whenever its animated , data is coming down your phone line from the web.
  • History - The history pane to see a list of recently viewed pages.
  • Channels - List of Active Channels with specific content to view.
  • Fullscreen - View web pages in full-screen mode.
  • Mail - Launch Outlook Express (the email program).
  • Print - Print the current page.
  • Edit - Allow you to edit the content of the current page .
